Snap on Veneer
I started with these simple Snap-on veneers you can buy for super cheap. You can find them on eBay for about $16. They come with a plastic upper and lower teeth, two small strips of white thermoplastic, and a little case. The thermoplastic is put in hot boiling water and it becomes soft and malleable. While it’s hot You’ll pop the plastic teeth and thermoplastic in your mouth and bite down. If you’re interested in this look I recommend this as a starting point. The drawbacks are they don’t last super long because this small strip of thermoplastic will chip and break down. You can easily order more thermoplastic pellets. Just be careful adding too much because you might not be able to get them off. Also visually you can see the edge of the teeth because there’s no gum line. In some spots the thermoplastic will overflow leading to estranged white gum lines. To address this look I pursued making my own custom doll teeth.

Custom Dentures
For the custom doll dentures the structure is remarkably similar but you will need more supplies. You will need the Snap-on veneers, a teeth impression kit, and pink thermoplastic. You’ll need to make a mouth impression using alginate and then pour a stone duplicate of your upper and lower month. You can order all these supplies off Etsy! They come in a convenient kit. It can be difficult to make an accurate mold of your mouth. It’s okay if you have to do it multiple times to get it right. For the upper impression be sure to get the roof of your mouth. While the alginate is wet, mix up the dental Stone and pour it right in. Mixing the stone is just like making pancakes you’re looking for the consistency of yogurt. In a professional dental lab they have a rubber bowl they mix they’re Stone in. I use a basketball that I cut in half. The rubber bowl is helpful for easy cleaning because once the stone hardens you can Flex the bowl and break it out. It’s easy for air pockets to form in the teeth so be sure to shake it to get the air bubbles out. The stone will harden quite quickly. When you pull it from the mold if there’s any little air pockets in the teeth.

You can patch them by making up a small amount of Stone and smoothing it out. It’s also nice to fill in any harsh undercuts or details in the teeth. This will help the dentures pop off the mold easier. Now with the plastic teeth veneers and the pink thermoplastic will create the dentures on top of this mold. Also, off Etsy you can order pink thermoplastic for temporary dentures. This is a fun step that requires an Artful touch.

Put a thin even layer of plastic all over the mold and then push the plastic veneer teeth into them. You’ll be working on a timetable cuz you have to do it all while it’s hot. As you’re working put the uppers and lowers together checking this they fit nicely. It’s common to break the mold getting the Dentures off. I have made two pairs in this style. Here are pictures of both.

Cleaning and Care
It’s good to scrub them with a toothbrush and toothpaste before and after wearing. You’ll want to store them inside a strong alcohol like gin or vodka. This alcohol is safe to drink and will Keep bacteria from growing. I’ve tried mouthwash and peroxide which are fine options but I like the alcohol because it adds to the party girl life. Before I put them on I run them under hot hot water for at least 30 seconds or more. This softens the plastic slightly making them slide on easily. Your teeth move slightly through your life and the plastic will continue to cure and slightly change shape. Putting them on slightly warm will help the two match up correctly again. Leading to a very comfortable fit. Be ready for lots of drool when you’re wearing these dentures. I will often have my head slightly lean back and will suck the extra drool down my throat.
Latex Dentures
I’ve experimented with making some latex teeth before. I made a set of uppers and lowers using a two-part mold. they came out remarkably nice although they squeak a lot when they rub up against each other in my mouth. The drool is a lot more intense with the rubber teeth. Compared to my other Plastic Dentures, I can easily talk, drink and eat small things. These dentures tend to pop out.

Full Latex Doll Mouth

This experiment was remarkably successful. This is a one piece mouth gag with upper teeth, a tongue and lower teeth. Perfect for that intense dollification transformation. Modifying some old mouth molds, I sculpted in the tongue more plaster and guessed at the angle they needed to be at. I used white latex with a touch of red dye to make a nice pink mouth color. I simply paint the mold several times with the latex to build up a thick layer of rubber. For the teeth detail, I paint the white latex into my mold I used for the latex dentures. Then I put the two together. Once latex is try to touch it will stick to itself incredibly well still. I carefully remove the teeth and stick it on the doll’s mouth. Smoothie the seam a little with more pink latex. It wasn’t the most efficient way but I’ve made a few Like this and they come out pretty consistent.
